In 1979, Jaap Vaandrager founded Hyva with a clear entrepreneurial vision and a strong belief in innovation, customer focus, and international growth. What started as a small operation in the Netherlands developed under his leadership into a global company serving customers around the world with innovative hydraulic solutions and transport technologies.

Throughout his career, Jaap Vaandrager demonstrated remarkable determination, commercial instinct, and the ability to build strong and lasting relationships. He believed that long-term success is built on trust, customer commitment, and the dedication of talented people. These values became part of Hyva’s culture and helped shape the company into a leading global industry player.

One of his most significant achievements was the development of Hyva’s own hydraulic cylinder technology, laying the foundation for decades of growth and innovation. Through continuous investment in products, people, and international expansion, he built a company that today operates across multiple continents and serves a broad range of industries worldwide.

Since February 2025, Hyva has been part of the JOST World family. As we continue building on this strong foundation, we remember Jaap Vaandrager’s entrepreneurial spirit, his vision, and the lasting impact he had on Hyva, its employees, customers, and partners.
